Dr Bin Khadim emphasised that the successful recruitment drive stems from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and and Ruler of Sharjah, and his directives to spare no efforts to provide best employment opportunities for the people of the Emirate, in order to offer the citizens a decent life and to ensure their wellbeing.
Leadership Role
He pointed out that HH the Ruler of Sharjah is keen to support the Emirate’s citizens scientifically and professionally and to groom them as the national wealth, participating in the development process and offering leadership in all walks of life.
The Head of Human Resources Directorate emphasised that the Emirate of Sharjah has been proactive under the guidance of HH the Ruler of Sharjah, in proposing and implementing happiness initiatives that have a positive impact on the people of the Emirate.
“HH Ruler of Sharjah is striving to employ all available resources and capabilities to see smiles play in the hearts and faces of his people, his children. He is in the quest of building a society that is based on prosperity, a comfortable and decent life and social stability,” said the top official.
Bin Khadim added that the Emirate of Sharjah, guided by the vision of HH the Ruler of Sharjah, has been creating a world of opportunities to accommodate national cadres, and to support the wheel of socio-economic development.
Employment Index
He explained that the employment index during 2019 was based on the community development requirements. Accordingly, HH Ruler of Sharjah approved the employment of 724 group cases based on the results of a questionnaire of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, and studies of the Department of Social Services and Family Development Centres, in addition to the employment requests submitted by citizens during the visits of the Ruler of Sharjah to various cities and regions of the Emirate.
Bin Khadim lauded HH Ruler of Sharjah’s interest in studying the situation of the people of the Emirate and the problems and challenges they face, in order to develop and find appropriate solutions to them, and to act to ensure a decent and stable life for them and their families.
He explained that 1317 job seekers were employed based on the requirements and needs of government agencies. As many as 351 group job interviews were organised in the government sector. He affirmed that job opportunities in the government sector have been made available to all sons and daughters of the nation, and accordingly, those with competence have been chosen to fill jobs in government agencies in Sharjah and its branches in the central and eastern region. Also, jobs were prioritised for graduates who have never had employment opportunities or experience before. As a result, a large number of nationals have been recruited.
Bin Khadim said 835 job opportunities have been created with the banking and investment industry as well as insurance and aviation sectors to fill the available jobs for 2019 for citizens in the private sector. As many as 95 job fairs were organised in the private sector, 25 job interview in banks and money exchanges, and 70 job interviews in private sector companies and institutions.
He explained that the main reasons that contributed to supporting the employment of citizens within the private sector entities are the continuous communication with institutions and companies in this sector, as well as the provision of qualified national cadres in the database of the Human Resources Directorate, which helped several private agencies employ them through programmes organised annually by the Directorate.
Participation in employment fairs
Dr Bin Khadim emphasised that the Directorate is keen to cooperate with all sectors in the country and meet all their needs and expectations from the national cadres. The Directorate’s participation in national employment fairs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah have had a positive impact in enhancing relations with various institutions, and encouraging new companies and businesses to employ job seekers, and achieve optimal investment in human resources.
