Xposure International Photography Festival invited photography Eric Pare to create a 360-degree photo booth for visitors to share an extraordinary experience. The rig was built using 60 DSLR cameras, connected to be triggered in perfect sync with one another. Images are snapped automatically when you reach each designated position and once you are done, the app does all the hard work of stitching together the images you have taken.
However, this 360-degree booth has an added dimension of light painting integrated in it. Eric Pare pushes the limit of light painting at many different levels, but this set-up of 60 cameras shooting simultaneously, while his trained staff moves around you with a tube of light is something else altogether. At first, you might think nothing much is happening but within a few minutes a remarkable photograph of yours, enveloped in patterned lights, is presented to you.
“A few years ago, we had tried such a set-up in Dubai. At the time, we were only beginners. But that’s where my career really took off. The desert plains of the UAE inspired me to create such amazing photographs. This time I am confident that the UAE will not only inspire me but push my art to a whole new level. We have built an incredible experience here for visitors to enjoy and learn how I manage to shoot my photographs,” said an excited Eric Pare.
The 360-degree booth is located right next to Pare’s exhibition ‘Signs of Light,’ which allows the visitors to become the object of art as well as its audience.
