The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), is calling for entries in the “Best Creative Communication Targeting Children and Adolescents” category as part of its 13th edition. This category honours outstanding communication initiatives that inspire, educate, and engage younger audiences.

The award category is open to local, regional and international government entities, international organisations, private-sector institutions, and producers of content for children and young people.
It covers communication initiatives, campaigns, and projects that use traditional and digital media, as well as interactive tools and technologies, to provide captivating and age-appropriate content that encourages learning, empowers creativity and critical thinking, while inspiring children and young people to become active members of their communities.
Investing in younger generations is an investment in the future. Prioritising purposeful communication from an early age serves as an essential foundation for amplifying creativity, reinforcing positive values, and expanding their knowledge.
Through this approach, the award honours initiatives that demonstrate new ways of engaging children and young people. It also encourages the development of content that reflects both educational value and effective communication, helping shape a more informed and socially aware generation.
Eligible entries include television, radio, and documentary programmes, books, magazines, stories, educational applications, digital games, and communication campaigns. They also comprise media and educational projects that use visual or interactive storytelling to make knowledge more accessible and support the intellectual development of children and young people.
Applicants must submit a clear and concise overview of the initiative, campaign, project, or communication practice, together with its main outcomes.
Entries can also incorporate supporting material, such as images, infographics, videos, and other attachments relevant to the category criteria and submission requirements.
Applications for this year’s edition remain open until 31 August, which features 23 categories across five sectors, including Government, International Organisations and Private Sector Awards, Individual Awards, Best Innovators Competition in Smart Communication Awards, Jury Awards, and Partner Awards.
