His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research, has approved 4,434 scholarships for Emirati students and children of Emirati women admitted to eight higher education institutions across the emirate.

The total number of bachelor's degree scholarships reached 3,463, master's degree scholarships totalled 722, and doctoral students received 249 scholarships.

The scholarships were distributed among eight higher education institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah: The University of Sharjah, the American University of Sharjah, the University of Khorfakkan, the University of Kalba, the University of Al Dhaid, the University of Fine Arts, the Sharjah Police Science Academy, and the Sharjah Academy for Maritime Transport.

The approval of these scholarships by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah reflects his deep and enduring belief in the importance of education and its vital role in equipping younger generations with the knowledge, science, and skills needed to advance themselves and their nation, while enhancing their active contribution to society.

These scholarships provide students with the opportunity to study at distinguished educational institutions that offer leading and diverse academic programmes across various fields, enabling them to acquire the essential skills required for the labourmarket and keep pace with advancements across all sectors and sciences.
