The brainstorming session started with a statement from HE Tariq Allay, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, as he thanked those interested in enriching the future plans of SPC’s projects and initiatives. He also confirmed that the ideas presented in the session would be considered by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau himself, as he addressed the necessity of documenting the discussions and contributions concluded from the session in order to place them within a framework and utilize them in mapping out SPC’s future programs and initiatives.
Asma Al Juwaied, Manager of the Sharjah Press Club, confirmed that social involvement starts from the initial idea, followed by the plan, and finally the implementation. For this reason, it is important that a group of professionals from various fields related to press and media in the country participate in this session. Al Juwaied also noted that "the ideas and initiatives were diverse in topics, which will strengthen our efforts in the next stage as we elevate the status of the Sharjah Press Club as a platform that supports knowledge and as a source of pride for all those interested in the professions of press and media."
During the session, attendees took part in mental exercises and group competitions that generated innovative ideas in three main fields. The first was conceiving a general vision for their expectations regarding the programs and services that should be provided by any international and professional press club. Afterwards, they discussed suggested facilities to be provided in Sharjah to assist the missions of press and media professionals. The third field addressed the suggested advantages to be provided by Sharjah Press Club to its members from different sectors.
Innovation Adviser Randa Taher raised several questions during the brainstorming session that incited innovative ideas in the field of media, specifically with regards to the press. In addition, she paved the way for a group dialogue concerning the different developmental initiatives raised by the specialists in attendance, with the goal of providing constant support and growth for press and media professionals.
