During the morning meeting on Monday, His Highness chaired the Khorfakkan University Board of Trustees at the university's headquarters. His Highness emphasized the university's significant role in fostering social interaction within the city and underscored the impact of its programs and activities on the city's scientific and cultural landscape, as well as its contribution to the promotion of values and social cohesion. His Highness stressed the importance of creating an environment conducive to the holistic development of male and female students and emphasized the continual need to align university initiatives with the community's needs while upholding its fundamental principles and fostering unity.
His Highness granted approval for the establishment of an integrated sports complex to accommodate various internal and external sports. Additionally, approval was given for the university's budget for the upcoming year, along with the reports of the council's committees, including the academic, financial, compliance, auditing, and financial resources development committees. His Highness also issued directives for conducting standard comparisons of the university's study plans with those of leading educational institutions, aimed at enhancing academic programs.
His Highness received a detailed briefing on the progress of the university projects, which encompass the construction of accommodations for male and female students, the development of the Khorfakkan Marine Research Institute, and the proposed design for an aquarium project.
The library's modern expansion project aimed to increase its capacity to accommodate over 230 students. It included three designated reading areas, three sections for bookshelves, two electronic libraries, discussion rooms for nine individuals, a closed lecture hall for 22 students, and an open debate area for 16 students. Additionally, the expansion encompassed establishing separate study spaces for male and female students, a seating area, a café, and administrative offices.
