The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) staff have joined hands with Al Ihsan Charity Association to take part in the ‘Ramadan Aman’ campaign in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Interior.
As part of the campaign, the SGMB team of volunteers distributed Iftar packs among motorists at the Shaikh Jumaa Bin Mohammad Al Mutawae Intersection and elsewhere in Sharjah on Sunday. They urged motorists to adhere to traffic safety rules and not endanger their lives and those of others by speeding, especially ahead of Iftar.
HE Tariq Saeed Allay pointed out that the SGMB, earlier known as the Sharjah Media Centre, takes part in a number of charity initiatives and humanitarian activities throughout the year as part of its social commitment and community outreach and this also reflects in all its programmes and activities.
Allay lauded the efforts being exerted as part of the ‘Ramadan Aman’ campaign throughout the country in spreading traffic awareness and discouraging excessive speed on the roads in peak hours, which often results in dangerous accidents during the holy month. He hailed the campaign as an ideal example of close cooperation and partnership between various community institutions and charities in the country.
The Ramadan Aman campaign celebrates the positive virtues of the holy month, underlines the importance of good deeds and a culture of volunteerism in the country, he added.
Allay emphasised that the SGMB activities complement the UAE's humanitarian approach and charitable initiatives, promoting social cohesion and close cooperation with various groups of society for common good.
The SGMB, the media and communication arm of the Government of Sharjah, is keen to support all charitable and voluntary initiatives aimed at various segments of the society in accordance with its media objectives.
