The session was held at Aljada in Sharjah and was attended by His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of SGMB.

Attendees also included His Excellency Mohammed Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA); Her Excellency Alia Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB; Her Excellency Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of House of Wisdom; and Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Member of the Board of Trustees at University of Al Dhaid, along with a number of officials, media representatives, and members of the public.

The session featured Emirati Writer and Poet Awad Al Darmaki and Kuwaiti Writer and Content Creator Mshari Bodraid. It was moderated by Media Professional Abdul Raouf Amira from SBA.

Al Darmaki addressed the accelerating pace of modern life, noting that rapid change now shapes everything from consumption patterns to workplace culture. He highlighted the need to reconnect with life’s simple details as a way to regain inner balance.

Citing the ideas of Egyptian thinker Abdel Wahab Elmessiri, the Emirati writer cautioned against reducing human value to productivity and consumption, stressing the significance of nurturingethical and spiritual awareness. He also reinforced the value of taking pride in one’s identity, language, and traditions, pointing to the central role of media in sharing stories that honour and preserve local culture.

Kuwaiti writer Mshari Bodraid said that real personal growth comes from moving beyond self-criticism and comparison with others, focusing instead on continuous improvement. He added that development is built on strong values, which form the basis for long-term success.

Bodraid urged taking time to reflect when feeling disconnected from oneself, noting that core principles serve as a guide to stay grounded, regardless of changing circumstances.

The session concluded that success is a relative concept shaped by each individual’s convictions and personal path. It cannot be measured by rigid standards, but rather by the progress one achieves in line with personal goals. Psychological balance, speakersemphasised, stems from clarity of purpose and the ability to reconcile life’s demands with values, enabling individuals to make more conscious and constructive decisions.

The evening also included interactive activities, as well as a Q&A segment and audience competitions with prizes sponsored by Grand Stores. Organised by SPC, the Ramadan Majlis will continue until 26 February at Aljada, following Taraweeh prayers.
