His Highness noted that this session embodies the values of consultation and active participation in sound decision-making, reaffirming the collective commitment to advancing development and supporting efforts aimed at realising the aspirations of the wise leadership and the welfare of the Emirate’s citizens.

The Crown Prince of Sharjah pointed out that the topics and issues to be addressed during this session require a sense of responsibility and a spirit of cooperation and complementarity. This, he said, would enable the SCC to uphold the highest standards of consultation and to reach optimal decisions and recommendations that would assist His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and the Sharjah Executive Council in shaping wise policies that promote sustainable development, security, prosperity, and wellbeing for the Emirate, its citizens, and all residents.
His Highness expressed his full confidence in the SCC’s ability to continue advancing steadily towards achieving its goals through upholding the values of consultation and collective effort. He affirmed his keen and continuous follow-up of the SCC’s proceedings and its issued recommendations, which everyone works diligently to implement.

Concluding his address, His Highness said: “We ask Almighty Allah to bless your efforts and endeavours, to continue bestowing His blessings upon the United Arab Emirates, to protect its President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Their Highnesses, Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and to guide their steps towards truth and righteousness.”
The ceremony commenced with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Afterwards, Meera Khalifa Al Muqarreb, Secretary-General of the SCC, read out Emiri Decree No. (59) of 2025, calling for the SCC to convene its third ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term.
His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), delivered a speech in which he welcomed His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah and expressed his deep appreciation for His Highness’s gracious attendance to inaugurate the new session.
He affirmed the SCC’s commitment to continuing the consultative path established by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah since the SCC’s founding in 1999, as a sincere national platform that gives voice to the people of Sharjah, reflects their concerns and aspirations, and contributes to shaping the Emirate’s present and future.
Dr Al Nuaimi added: “The establishment of the SCC marked a significant milestone in Sharjah’s development journey, being the fruit of a wise vision that made consultation a cornerstone of governance in the Emirate. Today, as we gather under this dome, we reaffirm that the SCC will remain true to its mission — loyal, dedicated, and committed to its parliamentary journey, working to achieve comprehensive development, sustainable prosperity, and an empowered citizen equipped with knowledge, living in a secure and stable society enjoying a dignified life.”
The SCC Chairman continued: “In fulfilling our national duty, we place the citizen at the heart of our priorities. We listen to their voices, translate their needs into recommendations and proposals, and, through our legislative and oversight tools, support the government apparatus and enhance integration with the Sharjah Executive Council to meet the aspirations of the Emirate’s people and address the challenges of the times.”
He added that the SCC attaches great importance to education, scientific research, economic development, food security, and the expansion of essential services — ensuring that Sharjah remains a distinguished model of development and wellbeing under the visionary leadership of its Ruler.
“With the opening of this new parliamentary session, we pledge to remain faithful, dedicated, and united in spirit, working to harness all our capabilities to achieve the aspirations of Your Highness for the glory and progress of our homeland.”
