His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Police Academy, attended on Wednesday morning the graduation ceremony of the third cohort of PhD students and the seventh cohort of Master’s students at the Sharjah Police Academy.
Opening of the Ceremony
The event began with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah and the audience then watched a video presentation highlighting the students’ academic journey — from classroom learning, through the preparation of research theses and academic discussions, and culminating in scientific recommendations. The video also showcased the Academy’s research outputs and publications, all grounded in rigorous academic and applied research.
Speech by the Academy Director
Brigadier Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director of the Sharjah Police Academy, began his speech by expressing the highest sentiments of loyalty and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, praising his guidance and visionary leadership, which have made knowledge the cornerstone of development and investment in people the driving force behind the emirate’s progress.
He also extended his sincere appreciation to His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah for his continuous patronage of the Academy’s programmes, ongoing support, and commitment to developing its academic and research systems. He further commended the Academy’s Board for enhancing policies and monitoring academic and administrative performance.
Academic excellence and research quality
The Director of the Sharjah Police Academy affirmed that the Academy’s postgraduate programmes were developed in accordance with the best global academic practices and aligned with the needs of security and government institutions in the UAE. He noted that this year’s student research addressed real-world issues in police administration, criminal investigation, quality and excellence, and risk management, as well as future-focused topics such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital transformation. He emphasised that the Academy has adopted a rigorous system for monitoring academic theses and ensuring their quality so that research outcomes are applicable and positively impact institutional performance.
He concluded his speech by offering guidance to the graduates, encouraging them to remain role models of excellence, commitment and innovation, and to serve as ambassadors of the Academy in their workplaces by embodying its values and mission in all their tasks and research.
Graduates’ address
Graduate Abdullah Rashid Al Kabouri delivered the graduates’ address, in which he expressed their deep gratitude for the support provided by the wise leadership, represented by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and for the care and guidance of His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah throughout their years of study. He affirmed that standing on the graduation stage marks the beginning of a new chapter of service and dedication, and that the academic and research training they received at the Academy will remain a solid foundation for contributing to the nation, developing security systems and enhancing institutional performance in their future careers.
Al Kabouri reflected on the academic journey at the Academy, describing it as a path rich in learning, experience and challenge. Throughout this journey, the graduates acquired extensive policing, legal and research knowledge, and benefitted from the Academy’s scientific environment, which has equipped them to serve their country and prepared them for the future with confidence.
Certificate presentation and group photo
His Highness, Chairman of the Sharjah Police Academy, presented certificates to the 57 graduates—49 Master’s students and 8 PhD students—offering his congratulations and extending his best wishes for their continued success in both their academic and professional paths.
At the end of the ceremony, His Highness graciously posed for a group photograph with the graduates and members of the Sharjah Police Academy Board.
