His Royal Highness the SWSDF Chairman was received by Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, as well as members of the Sharjah team.  He was briefed on the team’s preparations for the races and wished it success in its first participation in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Sharjah’s Formula 1 powerboat team consists of 25 members, including technicians and other support staff. As many as 20 players are participating in the Formula 1 races. The team has two dedicated F1 boats and a back-up boat, as well as 10 Formula 1 engines with a power of 400 horsepower each.

Ahmed Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, said preparations have been wrapped up following major efforts to provide all requirements for Sharjah’s Formula 1 powerboat team, which represents the smiling Emirate in this major championship.

Al Hosani asserted that the team is ready to compete in the Dammam round and expressed his hope that it will achieve the aspired outcomes.

Sami Celio has confirmed the readiness of the Sharjah squad, which includes world-class racing professionals with more than 30 years of experience, together with advanced equipment for boats and engines.
