Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, said: "We have mercy on every memory of Commemoration Day from the days of the homeland on our righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of performing their duties towards their country and its people in defense of the honour and the land”.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem added, in a speech he addressed to Nation Shield magazine, on the occasion of Commemoration Day, which falls on 30th November of each year: "The sons and daughters of the Emirates scrambled with all strength and determination to participate in the nation-building process, so they spread out in all fields of giving, armed with knowledge, skill and determination." To present the most wonderful examples of diligent service to the country, and to take advantage of the most precious thing they possess for the sake of the country's elevation and glory.
