Sharjah Emergency and Crisis Management Team Announces Gradual Lifting of Capacity Curbs on Public Activities and Events

The local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah has announced the gradual lifting of the capacity restrictions for all public activities and events in the Emirate, in various economic, hospitality, tourism and entertainment sectors as well as shopping centres-malls, besides allowing the full capacity on all means of transportation, in line with the decisions taken by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.

The panel also approved raising the maximum capacity for social events, such as weddings and funerals.

The authorities also approved reducing the social distancing of one metre in mosques and other places of worship in the Emirate. The panel will, however, continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation in the Emirate and take appropriate precautionary measures in accordance with the relevant findings and indicators.

The Sharjah authorities stressed the need to adhere to the green traffic system in the Emirate, calling on all members of society to continue taking precautionary and preventive measures by constantly wearing face masks and taking necessary Covid vaccination doses in order to return to normal life according to the highest safety standards.

The Team praised the commitment of community members to adhere to stipulated health safety guidelines and preventive measures, stressing that even as the Emirate goes ahead with the implementation of reduction of curbs and raising capacity of all public activities and events, the competent authorities will continue to deal with anyone who violates the stipulated preventive and precautionary measures.
