At Xposure International Photography Festival 2026, photography transcends documentation to become an act of giving. Through a dedicated visual initiative rooted in humanitarian storytelling, The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) is mobilising the power of images to support its ongoing humanitarian programmes, inviting audiences to engage with photography not only as viewers, but as active contributors to meaningful change beyond the exhibition space.

Until 4 February 2026, TBHF presents a visual art exhibition drawn from ‘Traces of Memory, The Son of Sharjah’, a humanitarian photography book developed through an institutional collaboration between the Executive Office of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi and The Big Heart Foundation. The exhibition features a curated selection of photographs captured by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Humanitarian Envoy of TBHF, during field visits accompanying the Foundation’s humanitarian work across several countries.

These photographs form the artistic core of the exhibition presented as part of Xposure 2026, where selected works are offered for acquisition within a humanitarian initiative that seeks to transform artistic appreciation into tangible support for humanitarian action. Moving beyond conventional humanitarian imagery, the photographs adopt a contemplative visual language that foregrounds quiet moments, human presence, and the character of place, offering an intimate and reflective perspective shaped by the photographer’s lens.

The exhibition also features Carrying Home, a second photography book that provides a broader visual reading of TBHF’s humanitarian engagement in contexts of displacement. Through images that highlight resilience, continuity, and everyday life, the publication reflects the Foundation’s long-term commitment to supporting affected communities beyond immediate emergency response.

Visitors are invited to support The Big Heart Foundation’s humanitarian mission by acquiring the photographs on display, with all proceeds dedicated to funding the Foundation’s humanitarian programmes.

Presented within Xposure 2026’s immersive visual storytelling experience, and aligned with the festival’s tenth-edition theme, A Decade of Visual Storytelling, the initiative reflects a shared belief between Xposure and The Big Heart Foundation in the power of images to build empathy, deepen understanding, and inspire action—bringing art and humanitarian responsibility together in a way that is both sincere and deeply human.
