Al Majaz Amphitheatre hosted a large audience on Monday evening for a concert featuring Arab stars Tamer Ashour and Wael Jassar, who performed a wide selection of their popular songs to fans from across the UAE.
Both artists expressed their appreciation to the Sharjah audience and noted how the emirate has become a major destination for various cultural and musical events. They also praised the Amphitheatre for providing a venue that continues to attract leading performers from the region.
The concert was organised as part of the “Let’s Majaz” season, which offers a full schedule of concerts and live performances.
Tamer Ashour Opens the Night
Tamer Ashour began his performance with a curated selection of his well-known songs, including “Hekayat,” before moving through a number of his standout tracks. He also brought back audience favourites such as “Asr Ba’eed,” “Al Rak Ala Al Neyya,” and “Hagi Al Nafsi,” reconnecting fans with some of his most memorable hits.
As the audience sang along, Ashour continued with “Haygeli Mawgou,” “Yah,” “Teslam,” “Beit Kabir,” and “Ghaybet El Habayeb.” He captivated them with “Makrahtehosh.”
He later revisited a collection of his earlier melodies with a medley that included “Metwahshana” and “Kan Mawdoa.” The artist concluded with powerful renditions of “Tetggi Netrogah,” “Ohololo Samah,” “Eftera’na,” “Kont Fein,” and “B’aoul Aadi,” and a final reprise of “Haygeli Mawgou.”
Wael Jassar Delivers Classic Tarab
Wael Jassar followed with a performance that highlighted his signature tarab style. He opened with a medley of his early classics, bringing the audience back to the songs that shaped his career.
Jassar then moved from performing “Ghareeb El Nas” to “Kol Waad,” a track that prompted the crowd to sing every word. He performed much-requested songs, such as “Betwashesheeni” and “Mawgoua.”
The audience also responded strongly to “Msheet Khalas,” “Malyoun Ahebbak,” “Mahma Ye’oolo” and “100 Ehsas.”
Jassar paid tribute to the golden era of Arabic music with “Alf Leila wa Leila,” before closing with “Hasaret Kol El Nas,” “Nekhabi Leh,” and “Halleni.”
Al Majaz Amphitheatre is set to host a series of concerts and cultural programmes throughout the season, reinforcing Sharjah’s role as a prominent destination for live entertainment.
