The Government Communication Department of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau has successfully hosted a training programme on “Developing Productive Thinking Skills” for members of the Government Communication Network and government media professionals working in the institutions, departments and government bodies across the Emirate. Ahmed Shahrouj, an international consultant and trainer in institutional creativity and innovation, conducted the training workshop over four days, from June 13 to 16, at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The training programme emphasised the need to keep pace with the developments of the era and continuous progress by developing thinking skills, without which an individual will not be able to face the various modern challenges. Government institutions and other entities are increasingly looking to develop strategic thinking skills in their employees to serve people better.
The workshop sought to explain the concept, methodology and skills of productive thinking and how to acquire cognitive and organisational frameworks to employ productive thinking skills and acquired competencies in the work environment.
Ms Huda Al-Dah, Manager of the Government Communication Department, SGMB, said: “The "Developing Productive Thinking Skills" workshop aims to develop the conscious thinking skill of members of the Government Communication Network working in government departments and institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah to keep pace with the ongoing developments and the challenges and come up with innovative solutions and ideas”.
She added: “The programme sheds light on problem-solving strategies to reduce errors, as a result of the analytical and inferential processes that the recipient performs to understand the problem and develop the best solutions to it”.
The training is part of the Government Communication Network initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of employees in various government departments and institutions in Sharjah and attracting the best international practices in developing the government communication system in the Emirate.
