Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the 15th edition of the Ramadan Council, organised by the Sharjah Press Club under the umbrella of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, will begin on Sunday, after Taraweeh prayers in Aljada, Sharjah, and will continue until 26 February.
The council will open its programme with a literary session entitled “Beyond the poem: hidden stories shaping poetry”, hosting poet and content creator Abdullah Al Enezi “Abu Aseel” and moderated by journalist Hamed bin Mohammadi. The session will focus on the space that precedes writing, where poetry is not yet a complete text but a living human experience. In a literary dialogue, Abu Aseel will review the most famous poems in the history of Arabic poetry and the stories behind them. He will discuss experiences, questions, and moments that were never written as they were, yet shaped the essence of the language and paved the way for the poetic text, opening a deeper window for discussion on the relationship between the text and its human context, and the distance between what we live and what we write.
Interactive activities and competitions
The sessions will be accompanied by a series of interactive activities and competitions aimed at the audience, providing attendees with opportunities to participate, engage, and win valuable prizes in an environment that combines benefit and knowledge while enhancing a rich community experience.
Promoting cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange
The 15th Ramadan Council continues its role in promoting cultural discussion by addressing the most important topics that align with public interests. The programme includes sessions covering vital themes such as health and quality of life, self-development, and travel, with participation from specialists and influential experts in these fields. Through the Ramadan Council, the Sharjah Press Club reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of dialogue and enhancing knowledge movement through an annual platform that combines thought and human experiences, contributing to building sustainable awareness based on constructive community engagement.
