SEC appoints Maryam Al Shamsi as Director of SSSD

The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), during its weekly meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Council, issued a decision to promote Maryam Majid Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Branch of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), to the position of Department Director under the special job system of the Government of Sharjah, and appointed her as Director of the SSSD.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the meeting, on Tuesday, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC). The meeting was held at the Sharjah Ruler's Office.

Follow-Up on Local Government Performance

The Council discussed a number of topics related to monitoring the performance of local departments and authorities to ensure the best possible services are delivered to the community across various sectors and fields.

Appointment and Promotion of Maryam Al Shamsi

The Council issued a decision promoting Maryam Majid Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Branch at the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), to the position of Department Director under the special job classification system in the Government of Sharjah, and appointed her as Director of the SSSD.

Approval of Temporary Housing System Recommendations

The Council approved recommendations related to the Temporary Housing System and updates to its regulatory framework—one of Sharjah’s pioneering housing initiatives. The initiative aims to provide top-quality services to citizens, address their needs, support family stability, and ensure suitable housing for emergency cases.

Detailed Review of Temporary Housing System Report

The Council was briefed on the details of the Temporary Housing System report, which covered eligibility cases for temporary housing support, conditions, and the various entities contributing to the initiative’s objectives. It also included key statistics regarding submitted and distributed applications across Sharjah’s cities and regions, financial costs, challenges, proposed solutions, and recommendations.

Sharjah Airport Authority Report

The Council reviewed a report from the Sharjah International Airport Authority, highlighting key services offered to travelers that ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience, reduce peak-time congestion in airport terminals, and enhance operational efficiency. The report also outlined the authority’s efforts in pursuing digital transformation and fostering innovation in the travel sector—efforts that boost Sharjah’s competitiveness in delivering smart, advanced services, elevate customer satisfaction, and align with their expectations.
