The Sharjah Classic Cars Club is expanding its efforts and initiatives to promote the love and culture of vintage cars and bikes, raising awareness about the hobby and consolidating the position of the Emirate in the field of sports like vintage cars and bicycles.

Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Old Car Club, emphasised that the Club has stepped up its activities and programmes after its merger with the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Merger with Classic Cars Museum

Last month, on June 9, the Sharjah Executive Council issued a decree announcing the merger of the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, including all its assets and properties, with the Sharjah Classic Cars Club.

Dr Al Zoud underscored the importance of the move in unifying the efforts and infrastructure for patronising and caring for vintage cars, which constitute an important legacy that chronicles the development of many aspects of life in the Emirate. 

He expressed confidence that the decision by the Government of Sharjah will reflect positively on developing the work, efforts and services of the Club and its various sports, cultural and social activities further bolstering Sharjah’s standing as a leading hub of vintage motorsports in the region. 

HH the Sharjah Ruler inaugurated the Sharjah Classic Cars Club on March 6, 2008 to serve as an umbrella organisation to support vintage car enthusiasts and lovers of motorsports as well as to overcome the technical and administrative challenges facing owners of classic cars. The Club has since played a key role in in organising activities and events to support this passion for vintage cars in the Emirate. 

Magic of Vintage Cars, Bikes 

The Sharjah Classic Cars Club provides the opportunity for fans and enthusiasts of vintage cars to exchange notes, experiences and expertise about this rare passion. It also offers a number of vital services and facilities to protect and restore the magic and luster of classic cars on the roads of Sharjah and the UAE.

The Club specialises in various types of vintage cars dating back to the early twenties of the last century, in addition to a selection of rare classic motorcycles and bicycles. The history of the oldest cars dates back to 1915.

Contribution to civilization 

Many of the classic cars from the Club's rich repertoire recapture the fascinating evolution and various stages of the development of the automobile industry.

The Sharjah Classic Cars Club, located on the Airport between the interchanges 4^th and 5^th, offers an excellent opportunity for motor enthusiasts to get acquainted with the most luxurious types of classic cars and their specifications, such as Rolls Royce, Ford, Mercedes, Chevrolet, Bentley and many others, as well as to know the genius inventors who led the production of these cars that changed the concepts of luxury in life worldwide and contributed to the development of human civilization itself. It has allowed humanity to move and travel easily, freely and safely.

The Sharjah Classic Cars Club is keen to empower and train national talents and competencies in this particular field providing all the necessary opportunities and infrastructure to practise the sport and hobby while paying attention to cooperation with various motorsports clubs and institutions in and outside the country, stressed Dr Al Zoud.

The Club organises a number of competitions, festivals and activities to promote the sport and hobby of classic cars and bikes in all segments of society in the Emirate, attracting participants from across the country and beyond in coordination with the Sharjah Sports Council.
