The Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee has announced to host a special concert at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah to mark the 49th UAE National Day celebrations in the Emirate.

The special concert will be held adhering strictly to all the precautionary health and safety measures approved by the Emirate of Sharjah to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents from the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Committee for National Day Celebrations, underscored the Emirate’s keenness to join in the nation-wide celebrations with traditional fervour and gaiety and renew the oath of loyalty to the nation and the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This renewal of trust in the leadership and the UAE is an expression of national unity. The country marches ahead under one banner celebrating a pageant of extraordinary and proud Emirati achievements, he added.

Al Midfa said, “The Emirate of Sharjah, which continues its march of progress according to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, translates the principles and values ​​of the Union with its tremendous initiatives and efforts in support of the UAE in building a safe future for generations to coming and strengthening the global position of the nation. We are immensely proud of all that the nation has achieved and pledge to continue working to preserve these achievements and further boost them.”

Al Midfa said that the UAE National Day celebrations this year are truly special as they come a year ahead of the golden jubilee festivities of our beloved country, marking an endless march of incredible achievements over the last 49 years and capping the rich legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the father of the nation. 

He stressed that all health safety measures and standard precautionary steps will be taken during the concert scheduled to be staged at the stunning Al Majaz Amphitheatre. He pointed out that Al Majaz Amphitheatre is ideal for the proposed concert as it can help the audience maintain social distancing and allow the organisers to host a grand show to tell the story of the UAE’s extraordinary journey.

Al Midfa said that more details about the concert that commemorate the saga of the founding of the UAE and the founding fathers’ heroic efforts to build a modern and forward-looking nation will be announced soon.
